Our mission is simple: provide the technology, people, and processes to improve your safety culture.
Safety is a culture and a belief that at its core requires a fundamental understanding of risk assessment, avoidance, and mitigation.
The Web-Based Analytical Technology (WBAT) platform is the only FAA supported and verified system for safety reporting including Aviation Safety Action Programs (ASAP), Line Operational Safety Audits (LOSA) and the new Safety Management System (SMS) rules. To further support our mission, WBAT expanded into enterprise level services including outsourced ASAP management, SMS implementation, and commercial FOQA services.
While keeping its roots in aviation, the WBAT platform his highly customizable for industries looking to take advantage of the powerful analytics and risk mitigation that comes from our
What We Do
WBAT is able to evolve the platform and services and continue moving safety forward thanks to the help of our Platform + Support subscribers.
As a longstanding FAA contractor, WBAT is guided by our subscribers’ voluntary safety programs and FAA regulations to foster best practices for safety data reporting and analysis. The experiences shared by our subscribers shape the regulatory-compliant modules of the WBAT platform so all necessary safety measures are met.
Our History
WBAT is a division of Universal Technical Resource Services, Inc. (UTRS), which wrote the book on flight operational quality assurance (FOQA) in the United States. UTRS has been at the forefront of aviation safety programs in the United States since the 1990s, when it implemented the first Flight Operational Quality Assurance (FOQA) demonstration projects for airlines. UTRS went on to develop IFQASys, the precursor to the WBAT platform, and has maintained and supported WBAT since its inception. Since 2005, the FAA has supported the development and hosting of the WBAT platform for airlines and operators to strengthen their safety programs.
We have developed, deployed and maintain a set of open source cloud-based tools for both voluntary safety reporting as well as MFOQA.
The Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS) was developed to take terrabytes of FOQA data, translate it into a common flight data language and provide reports for analysts to review and determine hazards and risks and make appropriate recommendations.
Our team has unparalleled understanding and knowledge of flight safety. We maintain a total commitment is to build a Safety Management System (SMS). WBAT continues to proudly serve 90 percent of the ASAP certificated aviation community through membership support and customization services.
